[Action Script] How to display that a button has been selected? May,2012

I have a frame where there are about 10 buttons. I want to be able to show that when you click a button, it shows that you have selected the button, and when you click it again, it unselects the button. Right now, you can click the button and nothing happens, but I want to change that.

I was thinking you could have frame within the button and use the "gotoandplay" function to play that frame within the button to show that it has been selected, and then if you click it again it would play the first frame showing that it is not selected.

I just haven't been able to find code that does that for buttons. If you have any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks for the help!
